Pemex pipeline explosion in Hidalgo leaves a worker dead

At the time the fire occurred in a Pemex pipeline, in the town of Xolostitla, municipality of Epazoyucan, the Security Cabinet of the Government of Hidalgo was in a meeting with Governor Julio Menchaca.

The worker who lost his life was in charge of operating the backhoe that was used during the maneuvers.

As soon as the emergency was notified, elements of the National Guard and the Hidalgo Secretary of Public Security, who are still working in the area, were transferred to the site.

Four years after President Andrés Manuel López Obrador began the fight against hydrocarbon theft, the huachicol continues: on average, 5,600 barrels of fuel are milked every 24 hours.

2022 opened with an average theft of 5,100 barrels each day, however in November 5,600 were reported every 24 hours.

According to the Secretary of Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval, between November 22 and December 5, 3,290 members of the Armed Forces were deployed to combat fuel theft.

During this period, it was possible to recover 39,520 liters of fuel that had been stolen, in addition, 140 clandestine taps were secured, two people were arrested and eight vehicles were seized.
