Pelegrín Castillo afirma candidaturas independientes deben ser reguladas

Santo Domingo. – The former deputy and vice president of the Progressive National Force Party (FNP), Pelegrín Castillo, criticized the recent judgment of the Constitutional Court (TC), which facilitates the presentation of independent candidacies without the support of political parties.

Castillo warned that these candidacies cannot have a privileged status and that it is necessary to regulate them, since, he said, they could contribute to the collapse of the country’s political order, which he considers in the process of decomposition.

Pelegrín Castillo’s statements were offered during an interview in the “The good with Alexandra Izquierdo”, conducted by the Alexandra Izquierdo businesswoman with the journalist Elías Ruíz Matuk. The space is transmitted on Sundays at 10:00 am by Teleantillas, Channel 10.

The political leader pointed out that the BC ruling must be adjusted to the electoral law and political parties to establish an adequate regulatory framework for independent candidacies. However, he warned that one of the main challenges faced by these applications is financing.

Migratory theme

Regarding the immigration crisis, Castillo proposed the creation of a patriotic movement that transcends political parties and ideologies, with the purpose of defending the country before the pressures derived from the Haitian crisis.

The former deputy said that the main problem faced by the Dominican Republic is the collapse of Haiti, which he described as a “failed state” ruled out by the international community.
