Pelé has seen the Super Bowl in the hospital

football legend Pele He returned to the hospital on Sunday for the final round of treatment for a colon tumor, the former Santos, New York Cosmos and Brazil player said.

Pele, 81, underwent surgery to remove a tumor in September 2021 and has been receiving treatment at a clinic in Sao Paulo on a regular basis ever since.

He posted a photo on Instagram of him smiling along with a message treating his latest hospitalization as routine. “Friends, as I have been doing monthly, I am going to the hospital to continue my treatment,” wrote the three-time World Cup winner.

“Already ordered a big TV and popcorn so I can watch the Super Bowl later. I’ll watch the game even though my friend @tombrady isn’t playing. Thanks for all the loving messages.”

Considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, Pelé has suffered a series of health problems in recent years, including hip surgery that left him with recurring pain and trouble walking unassisted. He has curtailed his public appearances but remains active on social media.
