According to a medical bulletin released this Friday (2), the King of Football, who is treating a colon tumor, is stable, with “general improvement in health” and being treated with antibiotics, whose response was “adequate”. The tumor was removed on September 4 last year. Since then, Pelé has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment, which requires regular visits to the hospital. According to this Friday’s medical bulletin, the new hospitalization of the Athlete of the Century took place for “reassessment of chemotherapy therapy”
Still according to information from the hospital, Pelé is in a “common room” and will remain hospitalized for “continuity of treatment”. The medical note is signed by the geriatrician and endocrinologist Fabio Nasri, by the oncologist Rene Gansi and by the superintendent director of Albert Einstein, Miguel Cendoroglo.
Last night (1st) Pelé thanked the messages of support he has received. According to a publication on a social network, the former football player said that he is in the hospital making his monthly visit and that it is always good to receive positive messages. “Thanks to Qatar for this tribute, and to everyone who sends me good vibes,” he said in reference to a get well message that was projected on a building in Qatar, the country that hosts the current soccer World Cup.
