The Pedro “Rockero” Alcázar Gymnasium, cradle of great national boxers, celebrated its 30th anniversary with an Olympic boxing function, as well as exhibitions by young people who seek to get ahead in their lives in this sport.
More than 20 exhibition matches were held between boys and girls from different parts of the capital city, in the presence of parents and fans who filled the facilities of this Gym located in Curundú.
In addition, an Olympic boxing program was carried out with a total of nine excellent fights, eight in the male category and one in the female category.
In the elite category in the 57kg Janicy “The Professor” Dos Santos defeated Alexandra Jurado by split decision in a great fight in the women’s fight that took place on this day.
Joel Calvo defeated Jesús Ortiz by unanimous decision in the 51kg school category, Yossit Rodríguez lost by unanimous decision to Emmanuel Arias in the 60kg cadet category, while Guillermo Pinto took the victory for RSC (Referee Stop Combat) at 2:27 of the second round on Iván Vergara in the 68kg elite category.
In the 54kg elite Isaac Samaniego defeated Miguel Moreno via RSC at 2:41 of the third round, José Espinoza achieved a victory by unanimous decision against Nazario Siri in the 57kg Elite, for his part Javier Bosso took the victory over Abdair Morales by unanimous decision in the 61kg Cadet category.
In the last two bouts of the day, Alexander Peralta starred in the fastest bout of the event by defeating Miguel Pérez via RSCI at 1:10 of the first round in the 77kg Elite category and closed the card with the victory of Reyis Mendoza by split decision. David Guillén in the 66kg Cadet.
This event was organized by the Mayor’s Office of Panama and its Sports Directorate, the work team of the Pedro Alcázar Gymnasium that every day is working hand in hand with the boxers and the endorsement of the Olympic Boxing Federation of Panama for the realization of this primer celebrating the 30th anniversary of this sports venue.
