The vice president of Organization of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv) and territorial liaison of Miranda, Pedro Infante, expressed this Tuesday that the organized popular power assumes the defense of the homeland as its own.
Infante spoke from the Ezequiel Zamora Park in Caracas, during a working meeting with groups and organized forces from the capital city and Miranda, led by the first vice president of the Psuv, Diosdado Hairalong with other members of the national leadership of that awning.
He highlighted the organization of patriotic men and women who have the will to fight intact to defend the Venezuelan people, “to defend the legacy of Bolívar, the legacy of Commander Chávez, our Constitution, the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, but also to “Defend Nicolás Maduro, president elected by our people on July 28.”
“This work assembly, this meeting of groups, of popular unity, is for peace, of organized popular power, which assumes as its own the task of defending the homeland for our independence, for our sovereignty, for our freedom, but also for the right to peace, for the right to joy that our people have, for the right to happiness and prosperity that all Venezuelans have in this beloved Bolivarian homeland,” he stressed.
Infante highlighted that in the state of Miranda there are 51 organized squads, with more than 1,200 companions present at the event, and “today a sample of the motorized force, more than 800 iron horses.”
Furthermore, he assured that in 2024 and 2025 what is called by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, as the “popular-military-police fusion” has transcended, being the fundamental key to guaranteeing “the victory of this people, the victory of this revolution and maintain the legacy.”
“We are at your service, ready, ready for any task to defend peace, the right to happiness, joy, independence and the sovereignty of the country,” he said.
Organization in defense of peace
For his part, the vice president of Mobilization and Events of the Psuv, Nahum Fernández, stated that in Caracas they have 37 units of groups and organized movements, who have defended the city against the claims of the right.
“Every time the right has thought of launching a wave of violence, we have had to go out organized to defend the territory in each of the streets in the city of Caracas,” he recalled.
Likewise, he highlighted the resistance that has been experienced in Caracas because “fascism has decided to establish a dynamic of war in the streets of the country, but we have been there in defense of peace, sovereignty and national independence.”
Fernández asserted that they will never hand over the country and that they will not allow the fascist sectors to hand it over to the United States, ratifying the commitment to the defense of the national territory.
In turn, the vice president of Regional and Municipal Affairs of the Psuv, Carmen Meléndez, highlighted the commitment assumed with the homeland. “We are going to assume the commitment we have with the homeland, it is to defend the homeland, our beloved Venezuela (…) Everyone who sets foot on Venezuelan land has the co-responsibility of defending it,” he emphasized.
Meléndez added the relevance of the unity, promoted by Commander Hugo Chávez, for the defense of the country against the attacks of fascism. Likewise, he assured that they will guarantee peace and that they will not allow anything that the fascists intend to happen.
