Pedro Castillo will participate in events with municipalities and schools four days after Juan Silva's resignation

The president of the Republic, will participate this Friday in a meeting with municipal authorities and in ceremonies of educational institutes, while still waiting for him to appoint the new Minister of Transport and Communications.

According to the president’s official agenda of activities, he will first go to the Lima Convention Center, in San Borja, for the Executive Meeting: Strengthening the management capacity of the municipalities of populated centers in Peru.

This will take place at 9 am

Two hours later, at 11 am, Pedro Castillo is expected to be present at the groundbreaking ceremony at the Educational Institution No. 5051 Virgen de Fátima, in Ventanilla.

In the afternoon, at 3 pm, the inauguration of Educational Institution No. 6010 Hilda B. Carrillo Agapito, in Pucusana, has been scheduled.

Waiting for the new head of the MTC

It should be noted that to date Pedro Castillo is expected to appoint a replacement for Juan Silva, who submitted his resignation as Minister of Transport and Communications on Monday, February 28, while the plenary session of Congress was debating his motion of censure.

“I inform the public that I accept the resignation presented today by Minister Juan Silva, thanking him for his services. Our commitment remains in force with the people and we need to meet the objectives set by the Government”President Castillo wrote that night.

The Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Chávarry, pointed out that President Pedro Castillo is looking for a person who does not have a background to lead the MTC.

“That depends on the president [designar al nuevo ministro]a suitable person is being evaluated, a person who does not have a record to place him in that portfolio that is of the utmost importance for the country”He said this Thursday before the press.
