In an official letter sent to Castillo Terrones, Williams Zapata explained that the session will begin at 9:00 am and the Head of State and/or his lawyer will be given the floor to make use of his right to defense. , in person.
As recalled, the subcommittee approved this Friday, November 11, the complaint for the alleged crime of treason against Pedro Castillo. The report was approved with 11 votes in favour, 10 against and 0 abstentions.
This is Constitutional Complaint 219, which proposed impeaching Castillo Terrones for alleged infraction of the Constitution (articles 32, 54, 110 and 118, in its numerals 1, 2 and 11) for which it is recommended disqualify him from exercising public office for five years.
The president is accused of having committed the alleged crime of treason against the fatherland, as an attack on national integritytypified in article 325 of the Criminal Code, which condemns “that practices an act aimed at subjecting the Republic, in whole or in part, to foreign domination or making a part of it independent”.
According to the document supported by Diego Bazán (Avanza País), in this case the defendant – in his capacity as President of the Republic – made statements that would put at risk the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation.
