Pedro Castillo: "They want to make us understand that we come to do the same as previous governments"

He never tires of lashing out at the press. The president of the Republic, again questioned the work of the media and assured that their objective is to make citizens believe that their Government is going to act the same as past efforts.

During a meeting at the Government Palace, in order to reaffirm the benefit of workers in the health sector, the head of state said that the media intend “make the population dizzy”.

Being a Government we cannot neglect the population that we know who are the most emerging in the country and there are many rights that must be undertaken to recover them. That hurts people when they don’t know the country. They want us to understand, through their information screens, making the population dizzy, making them believe that we have come to do the same thing as previous governments.”, he emphasized.

Next, he asserted that the Executive does not have time to “entertain” with things that go beyond his work, in reference to the constant questioning of his management by the investigations of the Prosecutor’s Office against him and his environment.

We don’t have time to entertain ourselves with other things, but there are people who have gotten into their heads, through the screen, saying ‘yes, well, look at the Government this, that‘” he mentioned.

Likewise, he referred to the decision made by the Congress of the Republic by not authorizing his trip to Colombia for the inauguration of the new president Gustavo Petro. Castillo Terrones described the event as a “shame”.

Look at what they have just done to us with the issue that we have not been able to go to the assumption of command of a colleague of ours in Colombia. This has never been seen in the history of the country. It is a shame in Latin America and in the world. The other side has their agenda and we can’t mess around with it.”, he expressed.
