The National Prosecutor’s Office received, for the second consecutive day, the statement of the ex-ministers of the last cabinet of the ex-president Pedro Castillowithin the framework of the preliminary investigation that is being followed for the alleged crime of rebellion and, alternatively, conspiracy.
In the morning, former Ministers of Economy Kurt Burneo and Interior Minister Willy Huerta came to give their testimonial statement. After noon, the former head of the Ministerial Cabinet Betssy Chávez also went to the prosecutor’s office.

At the headquarters of the Directorate of Special Operations (Diroes), in the Lima district of Ate, the extension of the investigative statement was made to Castillo Terrores, who is in preliminary detention at that police headquarters.
The testimonial statement of Roberto Wong Arica, TV Peru’s Press Manager, was also received, through whose signal the message was transmitted to the Nation, through which Castillo Terrones announced, on Wednesday the 7th of this month, the dissolution of Congress and the reorganization of the Judiciary, the Public Ministry, the National Board of Justice and the Constitutional Court.
Even the testimonial statement of some police commanders was taken. Finally, lawyer Benji Espinoza, who was the ex-president’s legal defender, appeared at the National Prosecutor’s Office, a representation he resigned after the message to the Nation.
These proceedings were carried out within the framework of the preliminary investigation ordered by the office of the National Prosecutor’s Office against Pedro Castillo, who is being investigated for the alleged crime of rebellion and, alternatively, conspiracy.
Castillo Terrones was dismissed on December 7 by Congress for permanent moral incapacity and arrested shortly after by the police, after the self-coup he gave that day when he announced the dissolution of the Legislative.
The former president was transferred to the Barbadillo prison, where former president Alberto Fujimori (1990-2000) is being held, who is serving a 25-year prison sentence for the massacres in Barrios Altos and La Cantuta, and the kidnapping of journalist Gustavo Gorriti and businessman Samuel Dyer.
