From Barbadillo, today July 28, 2025, I share with the Peruvian people my message to the nation. They have not silenced me, the voice of the people is still alive. pic.twitter.com/xbaw46B1JV

Castillo questioned the economic policy and said they have not silenced it.
Interestingly, the coup used the official symbols of the presidency and a photo of a previous message to the nation.
“This Congress should have closed when we announced it,” Castillo said, and then affirm that political organizations have signed a mafian pact with the current government.
He also recalled his arrest and criticized those who silenced the facts raised at the end of his government. In that sense, in a clear allusion to President Dina Boluarte, she questioned those who “ironed the wrinkles of the face”, but not “those of her conscience.”
The former coup president also assured that “Peru is governed by illegality and illegitimacy with bad surgeries and jewels.” He also questioned “neoliberal governments” for concessioning natural resources.
“I invite you to give political and social battle from the trenches of the popular alternative press,” he said.
The ex -president has been detained since December 7, 2022, after perpetrating a coup d’etat hours before Congress debates a vacancy motion against him.
Castillo Terrones is accused of the crimes of rebellion, abuse of authority, pertubation of public order. In that sense, the Public Ministry has requested that the ex -president be sentenced to 34 years in prison and disabled to exercise public office.
