Passed. The Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations (SAC) of Congress admitted the constitutional complaint filed by the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, against President Pedro Castillo by the alleged crimes of criminal organization, influence peddling and aggravated collusion.
With 13 votes in favor and eight againstit was decided to approve the qualification report of the Technical Secretariat of the SAC that recommends the admission of the complaint of the Prosecutor’s Office against Pedro Castillo in the investigations that are being developed for the cases known as MTC-Puente Tarata, Petroperú and Ministry of Housing.
In addition, the report also includes complaints against Juan Silva, former head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (TCM) who He is a fugitive from justice after an indictment order against him. In the same way, it is found Geiner Alvaradoex-owner of Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS).

It should be noted that the document sent by Benavides Vargas, raises the Legislative power make an interpretation of the Constitution that allows to constitutionally accuse Pedro Castillo although the negative position of various constitutionalists that point out that said denunciation would not proceed, since article 117 of the Constitution would not be respected.

Pedro Castillo described the complaint by Patricia Benavides as a “plot”
Pedro Castillo assured that it exists “a plot” against him by Patricia Benavides. In this sense, he considered that the tax accusation “is unconstitutional, illegal, without foundation and lacks any corroboration.”
“I denounce before the country and the international community this practice of conspiracy. The political forces, which came together in the largest corruption process in the 1990s, are now promoting a form of a new coup d’état in our country, ”he said in his message to the nation on October 19.
