After the former Prime Minister of Peru Guido Bellido revealed the confession made to him by the current former president of that country, Pedro Castillo, about not remembering anything about his speech to order the closure of Congress and what led to his dismissal, he refused that doctors from the Peruvian Institute of Legal Medicine perform toxicological and psychological tests on him.
This response came after a letter published by Congressman Guillermo Bermejo in Twitter which, according to his words, is a handwritten letter written by Castillo from his preventive detention in which he denounces that “camouflaged doctors” and a “faceless prosecutor” forced him to take a blood sample “without his consent.”

In his opinion, this was allegedly orchestrated by the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, against whom he would have requested his arrest, according to the general commander of the Peruvian National Police, Raúl Alfaro. Alfaro said in his statements before the Public Ministry that he received a WhatsApp call from today’s former Interior Minister, Willy Huerta, telling him that Castillo had ordered the closure of Congress – which was in session – to prevent anyone else from entering and evicting the facilities. , as well as taking actions to intervene with the prosecutor Benavides.
“After the conversation, I informed the Chief of Staff, Vicente Álvarez, and the General Counsel Command, Jorge Angulo, of what the president told me. I then gave the order that the PNP had to guarantee the free functioning of Congress and that the request for the prosecutor to intervene was illogical,” Alfaro said.
For his part, the president of the Peruvian Institute of Legal Medicine, Francisco Brizuela, denied that what was said to his face was not true because the doctors arrived “fully identified” and with the prosecutor on duty to the cell where Castillo is being held to take a test. urine and blood sample, after the Public Ministry ordered this measure due to his supposed state of intoxication during his speech.

They seek to guarantee his fundamental rights and the purpose of the judicial process, since he is detained for the alleged crime of “in flagrante”. On the other hand, the defense of Pedro Castillo filed a lawsuit before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) to demand that he be reinstated in his duties immediately, arguing that his rights to freedom were violated.
