The president of the Republic, peter castleexpressed that the citizens of the country seek to live in democracy and where the rule of law is respected. The statements were made during the presentation of the weapons recovered by the National Superintendency for the Control of Security Services, Weapons, Ammunition and Explosives for Civil Use (Sucamec) in the last 30 days.
“Peruvians want to live in peace. We Peruvians want to live in a democracy where institutionality is respected (and) where the rule of law is respected, but beginning to respect the family, beginning to respect the institutions”, stated the president.
On the other hand, he stated that the fight against crime does not depend only on actions that the central government executes, but of the joint effort of all the authorities, in reference to both the regional governors and the provincial and local mayors.

“I want to tell you that this fight to combat crime, which not only depends on the Government, but also on the joint effort of all the authorities of the three levels of Government,” he said.
At another point in his speech, the head of state mentioned that a large part of the seized arsenal was used in criminal acts and that the National Superintendency for the Control of Security Services, Arms, Ammunition and Explosives for Civil Use expects to recover approximately 20,000 weapons this year.
