Less than 5 months from regional and municipal elections 2022the president of the Republic, peter castleassured that his government maintain the neutrality necessary for said processes to be carried out and Peruvians can choose the next mayors and regional governors.
This pronouncement of Pedro Castillo, who has been investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office for alleged plagiarism of his thesiss, occurred during his speech at the closing of the National Meeting of Mayors and Mayoresses of Peru, organized by the Association of Municipalities of Peru (AMPE).
“We work with transparency and without corruption. We salute the good work carried out by many mayors, but we condemn those who collude with illegalities. In these 2022 Regional and Municipal Elections, the Government will maintain neutrality”, expressed the president.

At another point, he explained that the national program “Peru on the Move” will execute 90 drinking water and sanitation projects, benefiting urban and rural areas. with an investment of $520 million that will be managed in each region of the country.
“We hope to contribute with the municipal authorities and promote strategic, inter-institutional interventions that contribute to strengthening governance at the national and local levels,” he said.
In this sense, he highlighted that its management is focused on providing the population with comprehensive sanitation services, health, education and infrastructure in coordination with local authorities. “We will continue working with all the mayors until the last day, because we owe ourselves to the people and all citizens,” he added.
