Proceedings begin in the Public Ministry
The Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, began the diligence of statements by the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo. This occurs in the framework of the preliminary investigation that is being carried out against the head of state.
Through an official letter, the Supreme Prosecutor accepted the rescheduling request made by the president’s legal defense.
The president’s lawyer, Benji Espinoza, confirmed last Thursday that his client will attend the headquarters of the Public Ministry. Likewise, he specified that it will be Eduarcho Pachas who will accompany Castillo Terrones during the procedure.
The head of state will be questioned in relation to the case Petroperu for the alleged irregular biodiesel tender for 74 million dollars carried out by the company Heaven Petroleum Operators SA of Samir Abudayeh.
Likewise, he must answer for the dismissal of Mariano Gonzalez of the Ministry of the Interior after only 16 days in office, who stated that the president would be involved in corruption cases.
As is known, Castillo Terrones is being investigated for allegedly committing the crimes of influence peddling and personal concealment.
