A group of parliamentarians from the Alliance for Progress (APP) have asked the head of state, Pedro Castillo, to approve the law that extends the deadline for the process of formalizing artisanal mining.
The parliamentarians have asked that this rule be valid until December 2024.
“It is an extremely necessary, demanded expansion and above all, we have found a President of the Republic who understands the problem and knows very well that this decision will benefit hundreds of thousands of Peruvians,” said APP spokesperson Eduardo Saguala , upon leaving the Government Palace after a meeting with Pedro Castillo, along with Carlos Cevallos (Popular Action).
Along the same lines, Saguala affirmed that the president would sign this extension in the course of December 31 and that it would be promulgated in an extraordinary edition.
