The President Pedro Castillo participates today, Monday, August 22, in the II ordinary decentralized session of the National Citizen Security Council in Trujillowhere the head of state arrived accompanied by his prime minister Hannibal Torres and other cabinet representatives.
The activities of the president continue one day after the situation of his sister-in-law Yenifer Paredes is defined, since the Judicial Power rescheduled for this Tuesday, August 23, the hearing where the request for preventive detention for 36 months of the Prosecutor’s Office will be seen.
The Castillo Terrones’ situation continues to get complicated after the testimony of the former Deputy Minister of Housing Elizabeth Añañoswho announced that the Government Palace gave him orders to meet with members of the inner circle of the head of state to give them information -without being public officials- about public water and sanitation works, some of which were awarded by relatives and associates of the president.
Likewise, despite the fact that the president indicated on August 19 that his wife, the first lady Lilia Paredes, would deliver her passport to the Public Ministry; this to date has not been specified. According to Benji Espinoza, “a set of information must still be collected.”
Finally, a report from the PNP Special Team validated the information initially published by La República and which asserted that Yenifer Paredes was in the Palace when the prosecutors arrived for her arrest.
