Pedro Castillo gives a message to the Nation: "The constitutional complaint against me is unconstitutional and illegal"

President peter castle gave a message to the Nation, denouncing before the country and the international community a practice of “breaking the constitutional and democratic order” after the constitutional complaint presented by the Prosecutor.

All the Ministers of State were present in the message to the Nation, however, Dina Boluarte, Vice President and Minister of Development and Social Inclusion, was not present.

“In our country, these legal instruments are being misused recurrently by the Prosecutor’s Office with the complicity of some magistrates against me and the members of my Government. These acts, having no basis, hide their true purpose, which is none other than the political persecution that began before I assumed the administration of the State”, he assured.

“New forms of psychological torture are being instrumentalized with preliminary arrests to obtain accusations against me and my government. We call on human rights organizations to intercede for detainees whose right to the presumption of innocence is not respected,” she added.

“In this destabilizing effort, the neo-coup plotters don’t care about anything. Neither the people, nor the country, nor the family. I suffer it in my own flesh. My daughter, my wife, my entire family, have been attacked, with the sole purpose of destroying me, because they do not want my term to end, ”he indicated.

“I am not corrupt, and I repeat it until the end of my days. On the contrary, my commitment is the same as before and always, to fight to end this scourge that does so much damage to the country. However, if some betrayed my trust, let justice deal with them.”

He rejects his request to rectify sentences in his constitutional complaint

The Public Prosecutor’s Office ruled that the request for rectification of the defense of the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, was dismissed due to the lack of factual and legal grounds.

It was when responding to the president’s request to the Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, to rectify a series of statements made in the constitutional complaint that he filed against him for the alleged crimes of criminal organization, influence peddling and collusion.

Through a document, the Head of State indicates that on page 27 of said complaint they report that the statements provided by the effective collaborator CE-04-2022-EFCOOP on July 30 and 31, 2022, about a meeting held in Government Palace for “discredit the prosecutor of the Nation”were corroborated and would rule out the assertion about an alleged meeting.
