The lawyer Ronald Atencio announced that neither he nor Raúl Noblecilla will assume the legal defense of Pedro Castillo in the hearing in which the request for 18 months of preventive detention against the former president for the coup d’état that he perpetrated on December 7 will be evaluated.
Through social networks, Atencio explained that they made this decision after having a conversation with Castillo Terrones based on various elements. Among them, what he called a vacancy and a lifting of the pretrial “illegal and express”.

Likewise, the scheduling of a hearing to keep the ex-president in custody illegally validated by the judge who accepted the lifting of the preliminary hearing.
“Although it is true, lawyers protect rights in judicial jurisdiction; however, in this hearing there are no minimum guarantees that this will be the case. They will see the result and they will realize it, we will witness the execution of a human being.”said Ronald Atencio.

Pedro Castillo rejected notification
Former President Pedro Castillo refused to receive notification of the preventive detention hearing, as well as the folder that includes all the proceedings of the prosecution, and as happened on Wednesday, December 14, he did not participate in the session nor did he have appointed lawyers. for him to represent him.
The rapporteur of the Supreme Court of Preliminary Investigation explained that on December 14 at 2:15 p.m. they went to the Dinoes headquarters to deliver the files where the preparatory investigation is formalized and preventive detention is requested against Castillo Terrones.
In response, the ex-president replied “Yes, thank you, but I will not receive it”, so all the material was left to the custodial staff of the National Police.
