Pedro Castillo denounced through his social networks that three hooded criminals entered the former president’s brother’s home this Friday night, located in Cajamarca, where They tied him and his wife hand and foot, They beat them and stole a cell phone and other valuables. The attack, according to the former president, occurred around 7:30 p.m. and the attackers managed to flee before the arrival of the authorities.
“In an act, extremely outrageous and suspiciously linked to the political situation, last night, around 7:30, three hooded criminals violently entered the home of my brother Mercedes Castillo Terrones, where they were tied hand and foot along with his wife, to then proceed to beat them and steal his cell phone equipment, as well as other objects,” it reads.

According to the version released by Castillo, his brother managed to escape due to the attackers’ carelessness and asked for help from the residents of the area, who alerted the Rondas Campesinas and the National Police. However, so far the capture of those responsible for the assault has not been reported.
“For those of us who, from the correct side of history, have never remained silent in the face of injustice, corruption and the looting of our people, this criminal action, in which the physical and psychological integrity of my family is compromised, is an act of political intimidation,” added Castillo, who attributed the fact to political reasons.
