The coup plotter Pedro Castillo made the decision to file a criminal complaint against the 100 congressmen who voted in favor of his vacancy after his frustrated coup attempt in 2022.
The complaint lists all the names of the parliamentarians who voted in favor of vacating it after Castillo attempted to close Congress and establish a de facto government.
The complaint also includes former president Dina Boluarte, whom it considers to have illegally accepted the position of president. As is known, Boluarte assumed command of the country in accordance with the law because she held the position of vice president.
Castillo’s complaint even includes some congressmen from Peru Libre, the political party that brought him to power, who also decided to vacate him after his frustrated coup d’état. These are Alex Flores, María Agüero, Américo Gonza Castillo, Abel Reyes Cam, Waldemar Cerrón and Flavio Cruz Mamani.
Also included are the parliamentarians of the Magisterial Bloc, a bench that contributed the votes of Alex Paredes Gonzales, Elizabeth Medina Hermosilla and Edgar Tello. In addition, Cambio Democrático contributed the votes in favor of the vacancy of Ruth Luque Ibarra, Sigrid Bazán Narro and Edgard Reymundo.
As is known, on December 7, 2022, the then president Pedro Castillo addressed the country in an official message and declared the dissolution of the Congress of the Republic, a nationwide curfew and the reorganization of the entire justice system, including the Constitutional Court.
