He was turned off the microphone and gave him warnings for his bad behavior. Due to the constant acts of grievance and offenses of respect for the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court by former President Pedro Castillo, at the trial for the coup d’etat, the Collegiate decided this morning not to grant him the use of the microphone.
In addition, he did not allow his public lawyer to be accredited and instructed to indicate that he must behave in accordance with article 364 of the Criminal Code.
According to this regulation, the Criminal Chamber – whose director of debates is Judge Norma Carbajal – could impose a sanction, and each judge has “discretionary power” to resolve unregulated issues that arise in the trial, “whose resolution is necessary for its effective and due continuation.”
Judge Carbajal asked Castillo’s public lawyer, Ricardo Hernández, to communicate to his defendant who may be sanctioned if he persists with his faults of respect or grievances towards her or the criminal hall.
Hernández informed the magistrate that Castillo does not allow him to have dialogue with him because he is against the process, as he has already stated.
Then, the lawyer asked the judge to reconsider his decision, that is, to examine the measure taken again.
However, the judge ratified her decision. “The decision has been taken taking into account the repeated inconducts of the defendant Castillo Terrones, which are reflected in the objective incidents that occurred in the hearing sessions, and has the legal and constitutional support that has been mentioned,” he said.
However, he said that Castillo maintains the right to declare in the trial. “This does not quarrel with his right to be heard in the trial, to formally declare and to exercise his right to self -defense,” Carbajal explained.
At this time the audience continues. Weeks later, again at the time of the general law, Chota’s exprofesor again disqualify the judicial process, which he described as “mamarracho.”

The audience of Pedro Castillo is still here.
Lack of respect
As Peru21 reported last Tuesday, there was a new episode of lack of respect from Castillo to the Criminal Chamber and Judge Carbajal.
Reiterating the unfortunate episodes that has starred at the beginning of each hearing, former President Pedro Castillo again showed disrespect for Judge Norma Carbajal during the oral trial that is followed by the failed coup d’etat of December 7, 2022.
Taking advantage of the fact that the magistrate gave him the word only to identify – a process that has refused to fulfill since the beginning of the process – Castillo lashed out against her with direct accusations.
“Mrs. Magistrada, you have advanced an opinion in this trial and that is an infraction to the Constitution, which deserves a constitutional complaint. I reject this judgment,” said the ex -president, today in preventive detention, while Carbajal insistently asked him that he only identified. As on previous occasions, Castillo refused to be represented by an ex officio lawyer.
This type of behavior is not new. At the hearing last March 11, the former president insulted the judge, whom he described as “the Herodias of this Chamber”, in an act that generated rejection.
“I rejected this mamarracho of oral trial,” Castillo protested, which motivated an immediate warning of Judge Carbajal: “Be careful with her expressions,” he claimed firmly, warning him that he could be expelled from the room if he persisted in his behavior.
Since the beginning of the trial, the ex -president’s challenging attitude has been constant. In addition to refusing to identify, he has repeatedly questioned the presence of Judge Carbajal, arguing that he would have already advanced an opinion on his case.
Even her legal defense filed a habeas corpus requesting the exclusion of carbajal from the process, claiming that she previously integrated the Permanent Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court, which declared the multiple resources presented by Castillo inadmissible to try to recover her freedom. The action was finally dismissed.
Castillo faces accusations for the crimes of rebellion, abuse of authority and serious disturbance of public tranquility. Along with him, his former Prime Minister Betssy Chávez, his legal exassor Aníbal Torres and former Interior Minister Willy Huerta, are also processed.
