The plenary of Congress agreed that the debate and vote on the presidential vacancy motion against Pedro Castillo It will take place this Wednesday, December 7 at 3:00 pm Likewise, the Head of State was invited to exercise his right to defense before the national representation.
The date was proposed by the Board of Directors chaired by José Williams and approved with 59 votes in favor, 45 against and one abstention.
Fewer votes were obtained in favor than in the admission ballot because a group of parliamentarians claimed that the date conflicts with the week of representation and denounced that Williams ignored the agreement of the Board of Spokesmen, which agreed to summon the president on Monday, December 12.
“This debate on the vacancy motion could easily wait. I don’t know what the rush is. We cannot violate an agreement of the Board of Spokespersons regarding the week of representation”, said the perulibrista Alex Flores, who raised a reconsideration.
However, the reconsideration was rejected with 45 votes in favor and 58 against.
