A house located in the Sarratea passage, in the district of Breña, was the center of operations of the coup plotter Pedro Castillo during his period as a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic and even after assuming the first magistracy of the Nation.
In November 2021, a report from the program Fourth Estate revealed the parade of a series of characters through said property owned by the now detained Alejandro Sánchez Sánchez. It was even possible to see then how the now detained ex-president arrived at the place surreptitiously and trying to hide his identity with a cap.
The investigations determined that Castillo was on site with a series of officials, businessmen and family members such as former Defense Minister Juan Carrasco Millones, congressmen Alex Paredes and Lucinda Vásquez; also Karelim López. All of them were captured at the time of entry by the journalistic program.
Today, said five-story house, which was also used as a Peru Libre campaign location in 2021, as confirmed by the general commander of the National Police of Peru, Víctor Zanabria, is a confiscated asset that has been established as a new intelligence and police security operations.
And the property, it is recalled, was raided in January 2023 by the Special Team of the Attorney General’s Office, confiscating several boxes of relevant documentation within the framework of the investigations into the ‘Shadow Advisors’ case. After that it was in the hands of the National Seized Assets Program (Pronabi).
“We hope that the allocation to the police is maintained and that it can be used, suddenly, in other citizen security units. We are in custody since it is a judicial measure, this makes it easier to use it with organic police units by assigning personnel to can use the facilities and we can also implement it with means such as communication systems and equipment,” said Zanabria.
