During the night hours of Friday, February 25, the president Pedro Castillo Terrones spoke via social networks regarding the flight destined for the humanitarian transfer that will be sent to Poland in order to rescue Peruvians who live in Ukraine and have been victims of bombing by Russia. As announced by the president, This work was carried out in conjunction with the Peruvian Air Force, attached to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“As I announced very early, the Air Force is ready to go to Poland and transport Peruvians who will be evacuated from Ukraine. I salute the rapid coordination and attention of the Peruvian Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Defense for the well-being of our compatriots,” said Pedro Castillo.
When it decided to start bombing Ukraine, the Government of Peru was very specific with its position regarding this conflict. Since the attacks by Russia began, the Foreign Ministry has expressed that it does not agree with the aggressions of the Russian Government and that it would make efforts to mediate and try to resolve the conflict in a peaceful and diplomatic manner.

According to the pronouncement of Ministry of Defence, the flight to Poland will carry specialized Air Force crew and it would be ready to take off for Europe. For its part, the Ministry of Defense, which accompanied the post with a photo of the aircraft that will travel to Poland, these actions come hand in hand with the Peruvian Foreign Ministry, which has already been coordinating the transfer of compatriots.
“We are ready! The aircraft and the crew of the Peruvian Air Force are awaiting the authorizations to start the deployment to Poland, from where we will repatriate our compatriots in a situation of danger. Together with the Peruvian Foreign Ministry, we have been coordinating the humanitarian transfer of the Peruvian men and women who are in Ukraine,” concluded the official statement from the Ministry of Defense.
