The president of the Electoral Power, Pedro Calzadilla, together with the rectors of the National Electoral Council (CNE), expressed their solidarity with family and friends for the sensitive death of Tibisay Lucena, assured that they will always defend his memory for building a powerful system electoral in Venezuela.
Through the social network Twitter, @cneesvzla, an obituary was published on behalf of all the workers of the National Electoral Council (CNE), an entity in which Lucena was in charge from 2006 to 2020.

“We have the responsibility to defend the memory of the person who was responsible for building the Electoral Power. A great patriot, I think that Venezuela loses a bulwark. A Democrat who defended Republican principles,” Calzadilla said during a radio interview.
He recalled that Lucena was a reference of honesty and patriotism when he was in charge of the constituent process in 1999. “What he leaves as a legacy is having built an electoral system that is today a reason for international recognition. An automated voting system and the modernization of an electoral system”, added the current president of the CNE.
