This Saturday, September 6, from 8:00 a.m. m. until 4:00 p. m., The electoral process is developed to choose the spokesmen of the peasant councils throughout the Venezuelan territory, which constitutes an organizational milestone for the eventual formation of the National Campesina Union Ezequiel Zamora.
The process develops in three stages that guarantee its transparency. First, the promoter commission summons the inhabitants registered in the local census, in addition to assigning a place and time of the Assembly. Then the assistance of the peasants present is taken, who exercise their right to vote in three consecutive moments, one for each commission: organization and training; Productive economy; and territorial defense and national sovereignty.
The choice is made by voluntary postulation, secret vote with ballots and public counting. A main spokesman and a substitute for commission are chosen, and the results are formalized in two copies of the scrutiny act. The day covers more than 18 thousand rural communities and seeks to consolidate a basic structure oriented to territorial self -supply, peasant militia and popular control of the production process.
The Venezuelan constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, said that this reorganization represents the passage of resistance agriculture towards a national productive offensive. With this election, the Venezuelan peasantry reaffirms his commitment to sovereignty, agri -food security and the active defense of the territory.
