In the coming days, the mobility measures for December in the capital will be defined.
The mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, stated that monitoring of the Chingaza System will continue “from now until December 15.” Depending on how the level of the reservoirs continues, it will be determined if there are modifications to the measure.
“November has been a positive month. We have more inflows to the Chingaza System than the historical average, we hope that in December we will also have some inflows and it is an issue that we will permanently evaluate to make decisions,” he said.

This Friday, the president referred to a tour he took in Puerto Bahía, Cartagena. In that city, he anticipated that there will be about three months left to move all the rails for the Bogotá Metro from Cartagena. “There are more than 4,500 rails (…). It is a milestone because we already have the rails for the First Metro Line in Colombia.”
“The project is advancing 2%, on a monthly average, we will be above 45% by the end of the year,” Galán added.

Once the rails are in Bogotá, the next step, as Galán mentioned, is to move forward with the installation of the rails in the workshop yard and then on the viaduct. This should have 5.7 kilometers in test operation by “at the end of the first half of 2026.
Will there be peak and plate in December?
On the other hand, the president asserted that next week he will confirm whether the peak and plate for December will be lifted. “We have that challenge, there are 1,196 open construction sites in the city,” he said.
“That makes it difficult for us, that’s why we have to do modeling and calculations on the projection in that December season to see if we can lift it,” he stated.
