The sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, led the act of adaptation of the Quadrants of Peace of 56 communal circuits of the Altos Mirandinos, with the delivery of 14 patrol-type vehicles and two motorcycles for each circuit.
Cabello reiterated that the instruction given by the head of state, Nicolás Maduro, is that each communal circuit has a Peace Quadrant with patrol mobility and a communication system where they can respond to any emergency that arises in the communities, through 911.
He assured that ensuring the security and peace of the people is the responsibility of everyone and not just the national government.
In that sense, he indicated that an effort will be made to place cameras and conversations will be held with the owners of establishments that have one of these, so that these surveillance cameras point towards the streets and are all connected to 911.
He mentioned that in the Chacao municipality this modality is already used in which they work together to monitor streets and avenues, which helps combat the issue of crime.
“We must make an effort to cover the majority of the territory with cameras (…) The mayors, it is within their power to speak with merchants who have cameras that point to the streets,” he instructed.
On the other hand, he reiterated that the delivered units that will be on constant patrol belong to the Peace Quadrant of that communal circuit, so they must always be in the area to which they were assigned.
He explained that if these units are not authorized, “they will not be able to leave the four communal circuits of this Mirandino sector,” and they must always be on constant patrol in the streets, schools and housing sectors.
He reported that the national government is making efforts to acquire the equipment delivered, and highlighted that the instruction given by President Maduro is that each block, each circuit, has its respective Peace Quadrant and “we are going to comply.”
