The National Government, headed by Foreign Minister Álvaro Leyva, reported that Spain and Chile will be the countries that will accompany the Colombian peace process.

“I am in charge of the Spanish Minister of Relations… I want to answer a question about your participation in the Colombian peace process: you are, and I am telling you officially, an accompanying country (…) Chile, morally and officially, is also an accompanying country“, assured Leyva during a meeting of the representatives of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union.
The foreign minister added that the peace of Colombia it is “a show gem” and that the Petro government has a conviction for universal peace, national peace and peace beyond borders.

He also called for that Latin America and the Caribbean be a peaceful zone and called for the region to demand an end to the war in Ukraine,”that it is not even against Ukraine, it is against the planet”.
Finally, he thanked Cuba for its role in the Colombian peace process and thanked for facilitating its territory for this purpose.
