PCV militants ask to rescue the party from the current political bureau

In order “to rescue the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), from the current political bureau that has dragged it into the abysses of the right,” more than 16 delegations from the bases of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), made up of more than of 500 effective and militant delegates from the states of Apure, Barinas, Cojedes, Portuguesa, Táchira, Mérida, Trujillo, Bolívar, Anzoátegui, Sucre, Monagas, Carabobo, Guárico, Aragua, La Guaira, Caracas and Miranda, met this Sunday in Caracas, in order “to debate, structure and organize to redirect the PCV, towards the revolutionary and combative left to which it corresponds by historical duty”, as stated by Griseldis Herrera, a member of the Gustavo Machado cell; from the Clara Zetkin Women’s Front; and part of the Monagas delegation, and the National Patriotic PCV Movement.

Herrera reported that “the delegates present here are part of the organizational plenary sessions that were previously held in the regions, in which the militancy of our grassroots organizations decided to accompany this Extraordinary Congress, to disassociate themselves from the current leadership of the Central Political Committee and the Political Bureau of the PCV”.

He explained that “the decision corresponds to the fact that on November 22, 2022, the questioned leadership convened in an irritating manner and systematically violating the statutes and guiding principles of the PCV, the 27th Party congress, leaving the bases out of the census and the recensus and preventing the participation of the bases and the majorities in the election of their authorities”.

“In said illegitimate Congress, the “ratification” of the same political bureau was held for the 27th time, reelected with the participation of only 89 delegates, who do not represent the bases of the PCV, neither qualitatively nor quantitatively,” he assured.

“We are here today,” said Herrera, “ignoring the political line decided in that 27th congress in November, which proposes the demarcation of the PCV and the cessation of accompaniment to the Venezuelan revolution,” for which reason now, “the bureau is seen flirting with the imperialist right”.

“We are even ignoring the call for that congress and therefore, all the decisions that were made there and the election that took place of the authorities that today, at this moment, hold the leadership of the Party,” he ratified.

Likewise, the leader demanded: “We are asking that through the means that are necessary; be it the judicial one or the intervention of the CNE, we are allowed to hold a new congress where all the militancy can participate and choose based on the democratic centralism that our statutes stipulate, the greater participation of our bases, to elect our authorities and our regional committees in each state.”

For his part, Darío Fermín, a member of the Pedro Ortega Díaz Cell, and from Monagas, stated: “We come to reaffirm our position in full support of the revolutionary government of Nicolás Maduro, as well as to express publicly and out loud, the total rejection To the political bureau that the PCV has today, we propose to rescue the initials of the Party from that leadership that divorced from its militancy, from the revolutionary line of the left and separated the PCV towards right-wing servility”.

“We militants want to rescue the Party and return it to the ranks of the left, which are the ranks of the revolution,” Fermín concluded.
