The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), which does not align with the Maduro government or the opposition, classified it as an “act of war” the United States blockade of oil tankers.
Through a press release, the PCV expressed itself regarding the new pressure campaign that President Donald Trump is exercising Nicolás Maduro. For the party, it is no longer about economic sanctions, but rather a military siege aimed at the total suffocation of the national economy.
For the PCV, the purpose of this deployment in the Caribbean is to force a capitulation that allows “imperialism to appropriate the resources that Trump cynically claims as ‘stolen’.” The president explained that the military presence at sea will continue until all the stolen oil is returned.

“Faced with the threat of a naval blockade and military escalation, the PCV calls to international solidarity of class, appealing to the communist and workers parties of the world, including the American proletariat, to denounce imperialist piracy and the neocolonial offensive against Venezuela and against all of Latin America and the Caribbean,” the formation stated.
