The head of the Ministerial Cabinet, Betssy Chávez, sent this afternoon to the Congress of the Republic a letter in which she requests that four ministers be allowed to participate in tomorrow’s debate on the vacancy of the president Pedro Castillo. They are the ministers César Landa (Foreign Ministry), Félix Chero (Justice), Alejandro Salas (Labor) and Roberto Sánchez (Mincetur).
The head of the PCM refers to article 129 of the Constitution to support the accreditation of the members of the Cabinet in the plenary session that will begin at 3:00 in the parliamentary chamber.
“This request is made in strict compliance with what is indicated and stated in the Political Constitution of Peru for which, by law, there should be no limitation,” it is stated in the letter sent to the president of Congress, José Williams Zapata (AvP ).
The third vice president of Parliament, Alejandro Muñante (RP), criticized the presence of the ministers and described it as “an act of intimidation” that will not have results. “I don’t see how I could convince the rest to change their vote,” he added in statements to Channel N.
For her part, the spokeswoman for Fuerza Popular, Patricia Juárez, indicated from social networks that “the ministers who ask to participate in the vacancy debate can be constitutionally accused because Peruvians pay them to direct and carry out actions in their sector, but not for, like lawyers, to exercise the defense of Castillo ”.
