The trancaderas, which have become the headache of passers-by in some sections of the second ring, are due to the micro-surfacing repairs that the muprinciple is facing at the critical points. These works they will be extended for about three more months and the municipal authorities ask citizens for patience.
The municipal secretary of Public Works, Sergio Luna, explained that these works respond to the project ofe preventive and corrective maintenance of flexible pavement, the same that is being done with new technologies so that it has durability.
He points out that the tasks include a superficial treatment for mimprove the structure and micro-surfacing for roughnessad and comfort of the tracks.
The first phase of the work includes leveling to cover imperfections. It works from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and then follows the second phase with the placement of a layer of micro-surfacing that allows waterproofing and extends the useful life of the pavement. This last step is what is done between 6:00 and 11:30, because sunlight is needed because drying is natural.
“That is why we have to close the roads with the respective signs, it has to be closed for about three and a half hours, because it takesYou don’t have to wait for it to dry 100 percent. that the asphalt does not catch fire in the tires of vehicles”, he explained.
All this work was completed this Wednesday in the central lanes of Santos Dumont Avenue to Mother India, but a day before the sides were intervened, so the A traffic jam in the area despaired many drivers who had to get to their sources of work or meet commitments.
The cost of the project reaches Bs 39 million and contemplates the repair of 500,000 square meters.
According to the schedule, all work must be completed in 240 calendar days. “We are going to develop these works until the month of May or June, because they are intervening the entire second ring road, in addition to other sections such as the one that covers the sixth to the ninth ring road of the double lane to La Guardia, the second to the third ring road of Roca y Coronado avenue and the first to the third ring road of Busch avenue.

According to the municipal authorities, once the work with the micro-surfacing is finished, thecorresponding signage, both horizontal and vertical, which provides greater security to the neighbor who occupies these roads.
