Pablo González: “the recovery of the company in 2012 allows today to face growth problems”

The president of YPF, Pablo González, affirmed that the recovery of the company in 2012 allows today to face the problems of growth and the greater demand for energy, in a context of global volatility, when participating in the act for the 100 years of the oil company led by President Alberto Fernández and Vice President Cristina Kirchner in Tecnópolis.
“We are facing the problems of growth, that if the decision that was made in 2012 with the second YPF foundation had not been taken, we would not be able to do it today,” González said, stressing that “in a world that is demanding energy, the prices of that world commodity have skyrocketed”.
In this frame, asked the other oil companies to accompany the effort made: “We are 55% of the market, we also ask you to accompany this effort that we make with our flagship company”.
The head of the Argentine oil company made a historical tour of YPF Y highlighted the year 2012 as a “second foundation of YPF” from the sanction of law 26741 that declares the company to be of public utility and expropriates 51% of its assets.
In this framework, González argued that From 2012 to 2015 “there was an increase of 16% in thousands of barrels of oil, in terms of gas there was an increase of 25%, in the number of drilling equipment there was an increase of 137%, in investments there was an increase of 96%”.
“In short, what we had recovered was the great potential that the discovery and development of Vaca Muerta, which is the second unconventional gas reserve in the world and the fourth largest in unconventional oil in the world,” said González.
On the other hand, the president of YPF pointed out that “Diesel consumption has increased by 15% in Argentina and that is not only because of the agricultural issue, it is because transportation and economic activity have increased, because people are consuming more”.
In this way, González highlighted the “enormous potential” that YPF has and said that the company has “a great discussion ahead of it, which is how to put this phenomenal tool into operation, which is being able to have the energy for growth.”
In this sense, he stressed: “TWe have the challenges of having an LNG plant, building the second Proferti plantl, we have to continue promoting Y-TEC, another success of our Government that fills us with pride”.
