She resigns from the party, but not from the party. Congresswoman Patricia Chirinos resigned from the political group Avanza País, with which she entered Parliament in July 2021, as a legislator representing Callao.
However, according to what this media outlet was able to find out, she will continue in the Avanza País party, and does not plan – for the moment – to move to another political group in Parliament.

“Today, I announce my resignation from the Avanza País Party. I thank those who accompanied me on this path, but the differences with the current leadership lead me to take this step. My commitment to Peru remains firm, I will continue working for a more just and prosperous nation,” he wrote on his X account.

“Over the years, I have worked hard to promote the values and principles that Avanza País represents, always seeking the well-being of our beloved Peru. However, at this moment I find myself in the difficult position of having to communicate my decision to irrevocably and formally resign from the party. I have thought deeply about this decision and it is motivated by a series of events that have led me to this determination,” the congresswoman states at the beginning of her letter.
“In recent times, I have witnessed a series of appointments and decisions,” the legislator adds, “which, in my opinion, do not represent the ideals and objectives that we initially embraced when we joined this group. The differences regarding the programmatic direction of the party and the disagreements about the course we should follow as a political organization have created an unbridgeable distance between my vision and that of the current leadership. I feel that the path that is being taken no longer reflects the principles that motivated my entry, and I consider that the most honest thing to do is to step aside with the dignity and integrity that I have always maintained.”
“I want to emphasize that this resignation does not imply, in any way, a departure from my commitment to Peru or to public service. I will continue to work hard for the well-being of our nation from any space in which I can contribute positively. My conviction to serve the Peruvian people remains unshakeable, and my passion to work for a more just, democratic and prosperous nation remains intact,” is another part of Patricia Chirinos’ letter.

“Finally, I would like to thank each and every activist and citizen who has trusted me over the years. It has been a privilege to represent their voices and fight for our common ideals. My departure from Avanza Pais is a necessary step to maintain my coherence and principles. My commitment to Peru does not end here. I will continue working, with renewed conviction, for a more just, democratic and prosperous nation,” the document concludes.
