the congresswoman Patricia Chirinos (Advance Country) sent a letter to the president of the Congress, Lady Camonesin which he requests the recomposition of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations (SAC). The reason for the request Chirinos Venegas It is because “there is congressmen involved in judicial processeswith ongoing tax investigations and serious ethical questions.”
“Within the relationship there are congressmen with a final sentence and others in the process of investigation, which is a serious fact, which delegitimizes the actions of the institution that you lead and create discomfort in the population, since you question the presence of these people and the interference they may have, since they are facing a process with the justice”, reads the official letter dated August 25.
Likewise, in another part of the document, it indicates that it would be violating the Rule 20 of Parliament’s Rules of Procedure. This indicates that legislators are prohibited from integrating the Control Commission and the Ethics Commissionas well as the SAC and other ordinary commissions “when they are included in criminal proceedings.”
“I request you to guarantee the imperative compliance with the regulations of the Congress for the purposes of proceeding to remove the prosecuted congressmen from the aforementioned commissions”, concludes the statement of Patricia Chirinos.
