The third vice president of Congress, Patricia Chirinos (Avanza País), filed a constitutional complaint against the former president of the Republic Francis Sagasti for alleged violations of the Magna Carta.
Chirinos Venegas sent the complaint document to the president of the Constitutional Accusations Subcommittee, Rosío Salinas (Alliance for Progress), pointing out that the former president had violated articles 38, 39 and subsections 1, 3 and 8 of article 118 of the Constitution.
Also, the initiative against Sagasti Hochhausler intends to be disqualified from public office for 10 years.
The congresswoman from Avanza País bases the complaint on the grounds that the former president would have facilitated the Bruno Pacheco be appointed by the head of state, Pedro Castillo Terronesas Secretary General of the Government Palace.
Chirinos indicates that, according to the visit portal of the House of Pizarro, on July 22, 2021 Pacheco would have met with Sagasti, accompanied by Franco Pomalaya, José Luis Quispe and the nephew of the president Gianmarco Castillo Gómez.
In addition, he recalled that on July 26, 2021, the Classification of Positions of the Presidential Office was modified, through resolution No. 000047-2021-DP/SG6. In that sense, he explained that in said provision the requirements to be appointed as secretary general of the Government Palace were eliminated.
Said requirements to exercise the position of trust were: minimum experience of 10 years in public and/or private administration (mandatory); Minimum experience of 5 years in personnel management (mandatory); have a professional degree with a master’s degree (desirable), and knowledge of another language (desirable).
The third vice president of Congress also supports the accusation, mentioning Francisco Sagasti’s visit to Pedro Castillo on November 2, 2021, which was officially registered and only appears in a notebook of occurrences at door 6 of the Government Palace.
