Santo Domingo.- A dermatologist specialist in Barahona revealed this Monday that the majority of patients who come to the Dominican Dermatological Institute and Skin Surgery Dr. Humberto Bogaert Díaz have scabies.
According to Polibio Batista, he said that the consultations are from patients residing in Pedernales, Bahoruco, Barahona and Independencia.
Batista warned the population not to “worry” about the appearance of the skin infection that developed in Haiti.
The specialist suggests visiting the hospital centers immediately when they feel the strange disease on the skin to be treated.

The doctor, a skin specialist, stated that the scabies infection is transmissible by personal contact.
Batista insisted on maintaining control and quickly going to the doctor to be treated with specialized medication indicated by skin professionals.
As reported, the Haitian authorities have reported that some cases of skin infection identical to scabies have been detected, before the event, the Dominican Republic issued an “epidemiological alert” through the Ministry of Public Health, before its possible spread in the country.
