The patenting of agricultural machinery reached 848 units in May, with a year-on-year increase of 109.9%, which made last month “the best in almost two years,” according to the report released this Monday by the Association of Dealers of Automotive (Acara).
“With half a year passed, we see that the greater supply of domestic products allows us to meet the demand that remains firm,” said the entity’s Agricultural Machinery Division.
The total growth of patents accumulated in the first five months is 33% compared to the same period of 2021, with the harvester category being the one that grows the most (44%), “with ambitions of exceeding 900 units, if it is that in the second semester the current conditions are maintained,” said Acara.
In the comparison with April, the increase was 45%, since in that month 585 units had been patented.
In May, 90 harvesters were patented, an increase of 36.4% compared to the 66 units in April, and an increase of 119.5% if the comparison is year-on-year, since 41 units had been registered in May 2021.

As for tractors, 676 units were patented, an increase of 44.1% compared to 469 units in April, and 116% year-on-year, compared to 313 units in May 2021.

In May, 82 sprayers were patented, 64% more both in the monthly and interannual comparison. In this area, the market is led by PLA with 36% market share and Metalfor with 30%, while Caiman is in third place with 17%.
