The Seventh Court of Instruction of Santo Domingo Oeste issued an order to open a trial against Johan Manuel Castillo Ortega, accused of using his role as an evangelical pastor to sexually assault and rape several girls who congregated in the church he pastored, in facts occurred in the Los Alcarrizos municipality.
The litigating tax attorney Matti Noboa, representing the Public Ministrypresented during the hearing the evidence that motivated the opening of a trial against Castillo Ortega, “who committed rape and sexual assault to the detriment of four minors, and a last victim who is currently an adult, but who reported that “She was also abused when she was barely seven years old.”
The accusatory file, prepared by the investigative prosecutor Olivia Sosa, indicates that the defendant took advantage of vulnerability scenarios to harass, attack and intimidate the victims by touching their private parts, and that on several occasions they even had sexual relations in the same church.
The press release also details that Johan Castillo sexually assaulted the girls who visited his house when they went to play with his daughtersto whom he showed his genitals and made indecorous advances.
The Public Ministry has granted this fact the legal classification of violation of articles 330 and 333 of the Dominican Penal Code and 12, 18, 396, literals B and C, of Law 136-03 Code for the Protection System and the Fundamental Rights of Boys, Girls and Adolescents.
Judge Karol Patricia Heredia, after accepting the request of the Santo Domingo Oeste Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed that the defendant continues serving prison at the Najayo Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), in the Province of San Cristóbal.
