Passengers on domestic flights will not pay transfer TUUA at Jorge Chávez airport

He Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) reported that the domestic flight passengers that make connection in the Jorge Chavez International Airport They will not pay the national transfer TUUA. The Unified Rate for Airport Use (TUUA) Transfer is the payment that covers services for connecting passengers, that is, those who get off an aircraft, use the terminal facilities and continue their trip without leaving the airport premises.

The MTC clarified that no passenger flying only within the country You must pay this fee, regardless of whether your itinerary begins, ends or stops at the Jorge Chávez.

Objective: strengthen national routes and the country’s connectivity

The sector explained that the non-application of the national transfer TUUA seeks enhance the competitiveness of internal routesencourage national tourism and strengthen the territorial integration. The decision is part of the airport policy that the MTC promotes to protect passengers and ensure a more accessible transportation system.

The TUUA for international transfers will be charged from December 7

The MTC specified that, as of December 7the International transfer TUUA only for passengers arrive from abroad, remain in the terminal and continue their trip to a third country without leaving the facilities.

This charge is provided for in the concession contract between the Peruvian State and LAP, and its regulation corresponds to Ositranan organization that sets rates in accordance with its functions and the current regulatory framework. To facilitate the process, LAP has implemented online payment platforms, mobile agents and physical modules.

The rate finances 25 essential services for connecting passengers, including boarding lounges, security, medical assistance, flight information systems, air conditioning, signage, baggage clearance and exclusive areas.

In addition, the resources collected are allocated to the modernization and maintenance of 17 concessioned regional airportslocated in cities such as Iquitos, Piura, Pucallpa, Tarapoto, Chiclayo, Trujillo, Tumbes, Cajamarca, Arequipa, Tacna, Juliaca and Puerto Maldonado, among others.

The MTC reiterated its commitment to a policy that balances competitiveness, connectivity and legal certaintyfulfilling the commitments assumed with the concessionaire.
