Llegarán a RD pasajeros de destinos no tradicionales

Passengers from non-traditional destinations will arrive in the DR

The president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), José Marte Piantini approved new operations that will attract Dominican soil passengers from non-traditional destinations such as Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Turkey.

This will be possible through 5 Shared Codes such as: 3 from the Iberia airline and 2 from AIR Europeathis arose from the air transport agreement signed between the Dominican Republic (DR) and the Kingdom of Spain in January this year, Piantini explained.

“With the approval of these operations, we seek to maintain connectivity between the destinations Tel Aviv (Israel), Madrid (Spain) and Santo Domingo, explained the public servant.

This CShared code will allow passengers from Israel to use Iberia services on the route of this European city and DR until October 29, 2022.

The plenary of the JAC also approved Codeshare operations between Iberia and Qatar Airways. These flights would be carried out in the summer season this year on the Madrid/Santo Domingo/Madrid route, and will bring passengers from United Arab Emirates after his stopover in Spain.

IBERIA also applied for the 2022 summer season the approval to continue operations under the Shared Code regime with Vueling Airlines.

The JAC had approved these operations during the winter season, from October 31, 2021 to March 26, 2022, and now they seek to continue operating during the 2022 summer season, on the Barcelona/Punta Cana/Barcelona route.

Similarly, the JAC approved Codeshare operations between AIR Europa and Etihad Airways to operate the Madrid/Santo Domingo/Madrid route in which passengers will be able to fly between points in Spain, points in the United Arab Emirates and other countries with destination to the Dominican Republic.

The operations will be carried out during the summer season of 2022 (from March 27 to October 29, 2022).

AIR Europa was also approved Codeshare operations with Turkish Airlines to operate the Madrid/Santo Domingo/Madrid route, which will allow it to bring passengers on connecting flights with Istanbul, Turkey. The operations will be carried out during the 2022 Summer Season (from March 27 to October 29, 2022).

With these Codeshare approvals, the Dominican Republic allows airlines to have a presence on routes in which the volumes of traffic do not justify individual operations, hence, it allows them to have a presence in a market through this type of agreement.
