Pasquet on criticism of Ache: "I was surprised. I spoke with her and she did not reproach me for anything"

The deputy of Ciudadanos, Ope Pasquet, responded to his co-religionist, Vice Chancellor Carolina Acheafter she attributed “political gravity” to the Colorado leader’s request to re-discuss the free trade agreement (FTA) with China.

“I was surprised by this criticism of Carolina”Pasquet wrote on Twitter. “The Friday following the publication of my letter to Busca (where he stated his position on the FTA) I spoke with her in her office and not only did she not reproach me for anything but she kindly gave me information on the subject discussed“, he added.

“I claim my freedom of opinion on matters of public interest and I prefer to exercise it before finding myself faced with faits accomplis”explained the deputy. “I think the plurality of voices does not weaken the government coalitionbut rather enriches it. For my part, full stop,” he closed his statement.

Pasquet and Ache are members of Ciudadanos, the majority sector of the Colorado Party founded by former Foreign Minister Ernesto Talvi who left politics in 2020.
