A 54-year-old man received formalization from Justice after the prosecution formally accused him of murdering his 30-year-old nephew. The violent incident occurred last week in the town tacuaremboense from Paso de los Toros.
The homicide took place on Wednesday, June 6, in a rural establishment located at kilometer 151,500 of Route 20. According to Underlinedthe Police received an alert for a family conflict.
The agents were present at the farm and learned that the now accused and the victim had an altercation that escalated to aggression. As a result of the exchange, the younger of the two was transferred to a health center in Paso de los Toros due to injuries caused by a knife. At that time the agents decided to arrest the aggressor.
Hours later, the nephew would die as a result of his injuries at the Paso de los Toros Hospital.
After conducting an investigation, the prosecutor in the case, Marian Rodríguez, decided to charge the detainee with the crime of homicide as the perpetrator. As part of the procedure, the Justice issued a precautionary measure of preventive detention for a period of 120 days. This while the respective investigation continues its course until the presentation (or not) of a fiscal accusation by the official of the Public Ministry.
