Paseo Las Heroínas lights up in support of the eradication of gender violence

As part of the activities for the “Violet Month” around the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on the night of November 3, the lights were switched on at Paseo Las Heroinas de la Resistencia y la Independencia, located in Los Próceres, Caracas.

The symbolic act of lighting, with the emblematic color of the date, is a demonstration of support for the fight for the eradication of all types of violence against women to which the entire female population joined.

The activity was led by the Minister of Popular Power for Women and Gender Equality, Yelitze Santaella, who highlighted that this act not only honors the memory of the women who forged the history of the country, but also reaffirms the unwavering commitment of the Great Venezuela Women’s Mission (GMVM) with the eradication of violence, gender equality and social justice.

“We will not give up our feminist fight for a better world, where every woman has the freedom and right to live fully,” she noted.

Likewise, Santaella stated that similar activities are territorialized in each of the communes of the country. In addition, he indicated that the event proposed to promote spaces to raise awareness of the issue and celebrate the activation of the fourth vertex of the Great Venezuela Women Mission (GMVM), which determines the “Eradication of Violence against Women and Gender Justice.”
