Pascual Beach: man stole a car and was apprehended after persecution

Police of Saint Joseph arrested a man after undertaking a police chase through the town of Playa Pascual.

The incident occurred on Saturday as part of a carjacking. Police were on the trail of a reported vehicle that evaded a police checkpoint. However, in his eagerness to escape he ended up colliding and was arrested.

According to information to which he was able to access The R Journal, the detainee is 28 years old and has several criminal records. Due to the crash he suffered various minor injuries, but received medical assistance and is now available to the authorities.

According to the local media Radio News 41the detainee stole a Fiat Brava model car from the year 97. The offender stole the vehicle and other effects in a room located at kilometer 115 of route 3.

After denouncing the theft of the vehicle by its owners, the Policeman deployed several checkpoints throughout the department of San José. At a certain moment they saw how the car passed at high speed along Route 1, at the height of the city of Libertad.

Finally, at the Playa Pascual roundabout, the driver was unable to continue on his way as a police patrol blocked his way. The criminal rammed the patrol, but as a result of the impact he lost control and ended up in a sewer.
