The plenary session of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) met this Tuesday in a public hearing the challenges of the political parties, groups and movements regarding the resolutions related to the preliminary formation of 100 Electoral Boards and 20 Offices of Logistics Coordination Abroad (OCLEES).
At the hearing, held in the Auditorium of the Central Electoral Board and directed by the president of the body, Roman Jaquez Liranzo the major parties made extensive observations.
Sigmund Freud, political delegate of the official Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), took a list of proposals in which they suggested including and ratifying people as presidents, members and alternates in the electoral boards of Elías Piña, El Llano, Dajabón, Barahona, Fundación, Bahoruco, Azua, Guayabal, Independencia, Arenoso, Bajo de Haina, Las Matas de Santa Cruz, Las Yayas, Yamasá, among others.
They also suggested members for the Electoral Boards of Nigua and Savannah Church.
Similarly, in Spain, California, Canada, Chile, Miami, Italy, New Jersey, New York, Orlando, Puerto Ricoamong others.
Danilo Díaz, representative of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), demanded that in the confirmation of the Electoral Boards people who inspire confidence are placed.
They observed that the preliminary resolution of the Board that designates -according to the Fuerza del Pueblo party- in relation to the Barahona province, Enriquillo municipality, where they suggest a first member to replace one proposed by the PLD, considers that, perhaps, it is a mistake and not be that first vowel, but the second.
For her part, Tania Báez, political delegate of the Christian Democratic Quisqueyano Party, spoke on behalf of that organization and also on behalf of the People’s Force.
Báez indicated that the FP ratifies the challenges to the three resolutions issued by the JCE in which he appoints members of the Electoral Boards in the 158 municipalities of the country.
Also, the representative of the PQDC gave the considerations of that organization and said that they leave it to the sovereign appreciation of the plenary session of the JCE the decisions made.
However, he pointed out that the principle of equality regarding the distribution of members in electoral boards must be respected in relation to minority and majority parties.
Janet Camilo, political delegate of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), made specific observations in terms of designated members who are relatives, spouses or who have political aspirations.
He stressed that in the electoral board of Boca Chica, the member Amauris Castillo, is an official of the Superintendence of Insurance.
In Monte Plata, he argued that the second substitute for the president is a candidate for alderman for the PRM and the first member is a candidate for senator.
In Quisqueya he said that there are two brothers on the electoral board; in Sabana Grande de Boyá two of the members are husband and wife.
“None of these resolutions are defined. They are preliminary and the plenary will assess each of the observations,” assured the president of the JCEJaquez Liranzo.
The plenary granted, then, a term of seven days so that the political parties Submit your observations in writing, dated next Tuesday.
