This should be one of the last times the procedure is performed every six months, in April or October. The Electoral Justice is preparing changes to the Party Affiliation System (Filia), which will be updated daily, and no longer just twice a year. There is no set timeframe, however, for the definitive change.

The new party affiliation lists, to be delivered until today, must already specify all those who joined the associations until April 2, the deadline to join a party for those who intend to run in the October elections.

The first round of this year’s elections is scheduled for October 2, when voters go to the polls to elect the President of the Republic, governors, senators, federal, state and district deputies. An eventual runoff for the presidential race and state governments is scheduled for October 30.
